    “My Statistics Experience”
This is the second time i study Statistics, First i was so excited about it because since i was in grade school, I really enjoy math until now. Kind a nervous but excited to know the one who will be teaching us about it on the first semester. I really enjoy the first meeting because i did not feel so bored for 3 hours. Despite of a long time class, i do find it interesting enough for me to study hard. I prepare myself for every topics so that i can handle studying and at the same time enjoy every meeting. Since i love mathematics when i was in elementary it became advantage to me to easily understand the lessons or every lessons. I admit i do have a hard time understanding it sometimes but it triggers me more to solve and find solutions in every problems. Sometimes i give up thinking ad solving problems but i still push myself to understand the statistics more and more and always think positive than i or we can do anything if we wanted to.
In every meeting i enjoy the lesson of my professor because he did not use any books and he make us see how easy statistics is, thats why for me, it motivates me more to do my best to improve my knowledge. We only meet every Monday in the afternoon but still we can cope the topic, we also do the refreshing of topics so that we can still remember anything and every topic we have a quiz, quiz that motivates one of us to understand very well the topic. We also have our time to make ourselve’s comfortable in our lessons. My professor always asking us if we get the point or not, so that everyone will be aware and so that no one will get bored. I experience a lot of things when studying statistics, usually i got bored in other subject but when it becomes to math my boredome disappear and it excite me and makes me think what will be the next topic, will it be hard or easy to understand. However, hard or easy it might be i still think i can handle it so that the results will be more positive than negative. I always try to make Hard problems became easy so that i feel i can solve it despite of the pressure or the fact that the problem is hard.
In other people, statistics are hard for them, solving a simple math or a simple problem makes them give up early. I encounter people who always cursing math for its existence. I just laugh and say “math is everywhere and there is nothing they can do about it”. Statistics is very interesting, very enjoyable, and more easy to understand when you have a knowledge or a small knowledge about it. We can apply it in our lives in any way we wanted. For me, big part of my study is mathematics which is statistics or other, i only wanted to improve myself or my knowledge in statistics. Simply statistics is like our life , sometimes its hard as we think and sometimes it is easy. Like there is UP and DOWN, problem solved or not. That is STATISTIC EXPERIENCES i have.

Statistics is an indispensable tool in many fields in human endeavour. It permeates all fields and ranges over different levels. As a result many universities and colleges have included statistics in their curricular offerings. Student like me who take statistics as a course have varying needs and interest. I’m so much interested in obtaining not only a broad knowledge in statistics; I want to learn the basic statistical methods and how this can be applied in my respective fields, and I am being challenge for my ability on more advance statistical theoretical concepts that are prescribe and discuss by our professor. At first I have no idea what is statistic is all about because I heard that this subject is very hard to understand, but I find it easy because our professor can explain his subject logically. I also impress with my professor because when I saw him teaching to us I didn’t see and handbooks, and that is very impressive for me because some professor using books but professor Orata did not use any books while he was teaching.
In this experience I developed more my ability to use symbolism as a language. However before a symbol is use, it must be explain and illustrated. Professor Orata also used numerous examples to clarify concepts and demonstrated the application of method describe. I believe that the arouse interest in a subject, must be properly motivated. Hence I must try my best to present the subject in such manner. My statistic experience was a very big help for me not only in my daily life but also in other ways. I will not forget the lesson that our professor discussed to us and I will apply it in my own way. This experience that I have learned will never erase in my memory because I know our Professor gave his full knowledge to teach us and I want to say in our professor that continue to inspire more student whenever he may go. That is My Statistic Experience.

As an accountancy student , the subject statistic is one of the subjects that an accountancy student is expecting . You cannot pass an accounting and business subjects without the statistics , as Dr. Orata said , “ Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data” , it means that , as an accountancy student we need to be organized just like studying statistics because accounting and business subjects are subjects that needs to have a good planning and organizing .
The time is brilliantly so fast , imagine , we are now approaching the final part of the 1st semester of our second year in Olivarez College . I did not expect that I would learn so much about statistics , because it is so difficult in our part to have the kind of schedule every Monday , a whole day . Not only that , it is difficult for us because before the time of statistic comes , our subject is Physical Education 3 ( Swimming lesson ) . Imagine , we are doing it every Monday . But as a student , that is our responsible to cope up that kind of stress in our lives . That scenario , makes us stronger to face more challenges in our life as a student . During the statistic time , everybody in our class participate because of the teaching strategy of Dr. Orata , because he wants that everybody will participate . Topics are very knowlegable that makes us think about the answers in every different problems . As a view , you will think that the statistic is very difficult problems but if you are willing to learn about the subject , you can pick up all the lesson . I enjoy every meeting of the statistic because Dr. Orata is very fair to all , he did not used books that makes me say “Wow” because he knows all about the statistic and once you’re answer is wrong , in just one look , he knows that your answer is wrong . I hope that there are many students that will experience the things that I experienced with the BSA Students thru Dr. Orata .
Its been a great gratitude studying the subject statistics , because without the subject statistic , half of an accountancy student life will be missed . I want to take this opportunity to persuade all students to take the subject of statsitic because there are many mistery in every things that will be revelaed . I wan to thank Dr. Orata as our professor , because of his fairness in all students and giving appropriate remarks in every performance of his students . Finally I would say that being an Accountancy student , I am blessed because I met the subject that makes me organized , Statistic , a subject that makes all things organized .

A pleasant morning to you sir!

As a student of this subject my experience of the first day of class is very interesting because my professor is the first time to meet inside the campus. In this subject, my expectation is very difficult because I have no idea to this subject statistic all about, but I understand this subject easily because the strategy of my professor to teach is very understable to the student. I am very challenge for my ability to statistic subject by discussing our professor. If you are miss one topic to this subject matter it is your fault because this the one difficult subject curricular in the accountancy student. In the last topic in this subject is not understand because me is late to attend the class, I want to give up but I think my family to support me to finish my studying because I want to help my brother and sister to finish the study. I am happy to attend my statistic subject because to teach my professor logically and every call the attendance of my professor the class are happy because sorongon is always call coco martin. Every time the statistic subject I am fatigue because my subject before this statistic is swimming.I am very interesting to this subject because if me is cannot pass this subject my dream is going down.
All my experience in this subject are not erase in my mind because this is the unforgetable moment in the class. I hope those days remain we will get more knowledge about your lessons. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE ABOUT STATISTIC.

    “MY STATISTIC EXPERIENCE”

    GOOD DAY SIR EDWARD ORATA,

When I wrote this letter, I don’t know how or where to start because so many happene on this 1st semester of our classes so many negative and possitive happens. In my 24 years of existence in my life there’s so many people that I’ve been meet how they act and what attitude they have but I think that’s all just my experiece with them.Because I’m a kind of person love so many friends and be a friends with them.Going back when we first meet,on that day when I first sew you at the class, I feel anxiuos with you I thought you are a kind of teacher that terrorize all his student. I still felt that kind of feelings in a first week of our classes. But in a day of a second week I figured when you sometimes getting jape with my classmatesspecially on me you always call me yao ming but idon’t idolize that athlete he is so lazy and big bully inside the court, excepthe is the first asian who rise his career inside the nba basketball,I’ts much better you call me Dirk Nowitski I really idolize him hehe I’m just kidding.Sorry it just a segway, but on that situation you change my mind and my negative thoughts about you.I really admire the person who have a sense of humor because I have it too,I like when you do that inside the classroom it’s like a remedy that heal our wounds I mean you blow our pressure in your subject away. I really miss that one every Monday we meet with my classmates. In fact for me when it come lessons you gave to me , you are the one who did nice and quick to understand,I mean step by step that’s why you mold me as a better student. In fact statistic is very hard to do, I remember those day even theres so many quizes that you gave but still i made easy because you did a great job to teach me and my classmates you make the hard lessons easy as breath.Even when we left behind in our lessons you still delivered it to me and my classmates clearly. On that situation I started to love those lessons you gave.Thak you so much sir Orata because you did a great job, your on the right track.
    GODBLESS

In the word mathematics my mind is always say’s that, I hate that subject anymore. When I was on my high school I always failed it is because it is so hard for me. For my first time, I got a grade of my class card with marking or using a red pen, until I graduated at high school, in my mind it stated here that I always hate that Math subject until at my college life. When I enrolled at my present school it is expected that I will have a Math subject until I finish my minor subject. Everytime I looked at my registration form, I always looking for Mathematics subject. And now I enrolled at a subject of Math Statistics. Somebody said, in that subject it is very difficult in the field of Mathematics. I am so afraid because I am not good in Math always in terms of using numbers. When I first saw my professor, I expected him that he is very strict inside the room.
And now I saw the word STATISTICS, it is a process of collection, presentation, tabulation, analysis, interpretation of data, it has a similarity between accounting subject that’s why you have to focus at this subject. When he discuss it on us, I was shocked because I don’t expect that it is easy, I thought it is hard but in fact, it is very understandable and we can catch up it quickly.
When the exam’s come, we are all panic because we thought it is easy but when we answer it, it made us very stressful, because it is hard to analyze and hard to calculated. I experience also that he said that we can only know our grade if we can received his text messages at 5:00 to 6:00AM either we pass or not at our prelim examination. I really expect that I fail that statistics subject because I am not sure all of my answer during exam. We wait the text messages of our professor but it made us so excited because nobody received the message. It sooths my nerves, some of my classmate received already the text but I, nothing! After a while when I looked at my cellphone, I was rushing and I don’t believe that I passed the exam. It was so very awesome and, this subject challenged me on how to be good in Math.
In the room, during classes Dr. Orata gave us a joke while we are enjoying solving the problem, it makes us fun when he mentioned Coco Martin and Yao Ming, and they are James Sorongon and Jaypee Suello respectively.
One day, I experience rushing doing my assignment with my partner, because it is almost timed on Statistics subject. When we are going to enter inside the room I am so worried because it is locked. I don’t want to behind on that subject, because once you missed this, it made you failed also.
And now Statistics, it is midterm, it made us very stressful because we have a lot to do specially my research paper. We have to work it hard to be able them to appreciate of how I work hard at this point at the same time it makes our paper successful. For me statistics is just a kind of problem, if you cannot analyze it carefully, you will never been solve this problem anymore. So learn from it, so you will be succeed as be part of your present life.

    “My Statistics Experience”

Statistics! ... When I heard the word “statistics”, I was so... ha?? What is it all about? When I first met Dr. Orata I never thought that he would be our professor in statistics because honestly speaking, I thought he is just our new classmate from other department. But I’m so surprised because when he put his bag down, he stand up and he introduced himself in front of us that he will be our professor in statistics for the whole semester. I also thought that he’s just like our other professor which is so strict because that was my first impression in him. But in reverse he’s not that strict, he’s just strict particularly in time, in activities and projects that are we going to passed in specific schedule. So, back to our first meeting I thought that our class would be so boring because he speaks direct to the point always. He’s also fast in presenting the lessons in the class. I think it’s 2 to 3 lessons every meeting but it’s just fine. In every meeting, when he wrote something in white board either an example or sample problems, at first glance you can say that it was so hard because the numbers are too confusing but it gets much easier when Dr. Orata explained it. And when he gave us activities or seatwork’s sometimes were not gonna able to finished it because we (5 girls at NB208) are seated in front of him, sometimes his fun of asking questions like weird questions and all I gonna do is to laugh and laugh but it was so funny so we like it too. My first expectation and impression in him was big failed because I never thought that our class in statistics would be so happy as it is or would be so happy as I have imagined. I didn’t forgot the happenings last, last week that was actually Sept. 3 we were very late so he didn’t let us join the class. But after awhile I was so thankful because he already permits us to joined the class even if were late and that’s the very important key for him “don’t be late”. I also didn’t forgot last meeting he gave us his bag and told us to bring it, so we bring it and actually it was so heavy but it’s ok. I also thank all the laugh trips made by you (Dr. /Sir Orata) especially in our class (BSA-II) and I will never forget that. You are the most unique professor I’ve ever known. I or you would learn to love statistics subject when he is your professor. And this is my experience in Statistics!!!

    “MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE”

Statistics is one of the most important subject of BSA. When you want to prove something, you use statistics. You gather data, tabulate it and you prove something out of the data gathered.
This semester is one of the best in my one and half years of studying here at Olivarez College. Statistics is very interesting and challenging subject. What’s nice about it is that you enjoy solving problems and at the same time, you learn something from it. We are quite thankful because our professor gave us a lot of work to do, it improves our skills in solving problems. And because of that problems and activities that he gave to us, we didn’t notice the time and were enjoying doing it.
Our professor makes it a lot easier for us to understand the lessons. He gives different activities which helps us improve our understanding regarding the topics. Eventhough our professor taught us so fast, still we understand the lesson, well because he made it clear and understable for us. Before, I thought the subject statistics was hard because my friends in the higher year told me that many of them failed in that subject. And told me that they didn’t learn anything from that subject but for me, maybe it depend on the professor who taught that. Because if the professor didn’t know how teach that well, its obvious that the students wont understand it too. That’s why im thankful that my professor taught us well and made it easy for us.
My experience with this subject is really good. It gave me a lot of experiences as well as learnings. Im thankful with my professor and also my classmates beacause without them, it will be probably be hard for me to underastand the subject.

    “MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE”

Since high school days, I know math is a difficult subject but yet interesting. By the way I just came from a private high school all away from the province of Abra. I just landed here in the City for I know it might help me for my future job. As a student of Accountancy, I found that it’s hard for me to cope up in any lesson because I am really not good in math. Despite from that I’m still trying to study hard for me to have high grades.

In our first meeting and that was Friday of June, my first impression is that this subject would be challenging cause I know our New Professor Dr. Edmar Orata is great and a very approachable teacher. I knew it because our Dean Lorna Condes told us about him. In that time, I feel a little bit nervous, of course in a way that I will be challenge much.

As I know, Statistics present facts in simple form, reduces the complexity of data, facilities comparison, helps in forecasting and draw of inference. Some consider statistics to be a mathematical body of science pertaining to the collection, analysis, interpretation or explanation, and presentation of data, while others consider it a branch of mathematics concerned with collecting and interpreting data. Because of its empirical roots and its focus on applications, statistics is usually considered to be a distinct mathematical science rather than a branch of mathematics. Much of statistics is non-mathematical: ensuring that data collection is undertaken in a way that allows valid conclusions to be drawn; coding and archiving of data so that information is retained and made useful for international comparisons of official statistics; reporting of results and summarize ed data (tables and graphs) in ways that are comprehensible to those who need to make use of them; implementing procedures that ensure the privacy of census information.

Statistics is closely related to probability theory, with which it is often grouped; the difference is roughly that in probability theory, one starts from the given parameters of a total population to deduce probabilities pertaining to samples, but statistical inference moves in the opposite direction, inductive inference from samples to the parameters of a larger or total population.

Statistic is of immense use in planning, business, economics, administration etc. But statistics has got several limitations. It does not deal with qualitative phenomena and individuals. I thought it uses tables and surveying only.

When I began to learn this subject, I realized that statistics has a very large fact that covers whole mathematics. For now, it changed my personality in terms of social development. I know I can use this in the future for the increase of population and globalization. I thank Doctor Edmar Orata for letting us know the real value of statistics. He will be a part of our success in the near future. “I can say now that statistics is definitely important. Maybe some will not agree but there will always be that thing that will help us to make it in our life.”

    "MY STATISTIC EXPERIENCE"

Statistic one of the subject that really caught my attention this semester, and I am glad that I have taken this subject. It helps me a lot in understanding the essence of math. It is more fun studying STATISTIC.
On the first day that I encounter this subject, I was like “Oh my statistic please be good to me” because I thought that this subject will drain my brain and will throw me up but, a very big BUT, I was so wrong, when the assigned professor entered our room it was so obvious that he will really let us learn his subject, he was not like any other professor that looks like he’ll going to eat all his student, the atmosphere was good and I was too excited what would be this statistic all about.
Monday, a very exhausted day for us all the major subject was in there starting from 9 in the morning until 8 in the evening, math is our last subject and it covers 3 hours of our day. Last subject is my favorite one because we all know that after that, going home is next but it all change, it was now my favorite subject because of statistic. Yes it was 3 hours of our day but it wasn’t bored me, every lesson that we tackled was all in my head and I really learned a lot. There is no dead air between the classes because our professor makes sure that every minute is being used for us to know more.
In statistic, I have learned its nature, it looks complicated when you first see it but when it was taught to us I find easy and interesting to learn, every lesson is presented to us in a very clear way, the graph, tables and other ways to present data has been performed also in fact for 3 hours we can finish 3 lessons at the same time we had our exercises almost all correct and we easily understood the subject and this proved that our professor has a good communication skill.
In our room we never feel the pressure because we can easily adapt the situation, that’s why I really love math no joke or any other thing. Since I was in grade school I have this passion in my heart to learn math and so by now it don’t disappoint me to love it even more. In 3 hours of our class I never been like a lazy one who tries to sneak out of the room why because I find this subject really enjoyable, math is fun! Other people just don’t see that because they never try to look at it.
Why learn statistic, it's because in every single day that we have we present data and in presenting that we use several ways that this subject cover, with this we can know the probability of a thing, who is the best teacher or the best subject we can even know the status of our economy. In our society they work in a place full of statistic that is one thing that I learned for example in getting the data of the total population such people use techniques that is being taught in statistic.
In view of above, I can say that I really had the good one in this subject and after this I know that I can still remember all the things I have learned in it for almost 4months for having this subject it gives me more eagerness to know more about it. It proved that no lesson is hard if you will just learned to listen and understand it further. I’ll always treasure the moment we have in this class and I’m sure that all my classmates would probably say that they learned a lot. So I say that IT IS MORE FUN TO STUDY STATISTIC.

    MY EXPERIENCE IN STATISTICS:

Statistics deal with data collection in terms of survey and experiments. I’m Azmabeth B. Lulab, a BSAccountancy Student; my experience in statistics goes this way: I thought statistics is one of the difficult subjects that I will be encountering in college for some students told me that. Having this subject made me pray before that may the lord give us a professor who is really a big help to understand the subject. From the very first meeting, seeing Sir Orata , I thought he is very strict and not approachable. But I am wrong because learning statistics with Sir Orata was fun. It made me more interesting study because he was able to explain each topic very well.

I remember first day of school, I and Sir Orata was having a small conversation, at the side of the classroom. He asked me to what province I came from and I told him I’m from Negros Oriental. I thought Sir Orata is snobbish but he was completely easy to deal with. I proved it true when Mam Rodriguez told us that our professor is “ magaling magturo ”. Our class lasts 3hours, so Sir Orata gives seatwork’s and quizzes right after discussing a topic so that he could see if we understood the lesson. I got flattered when Sir told us that Accountancy students were one of his favorite because in 3hours we were able to finish about 3-4ntopics.

I treasured the time when Sir Orata said that we should study hard and be responsible. Because of him, I learned more about Math, mostly statistics. The most memorable with this subject was the moment we were late for 10 minutes , the doors were locked and I together with my classmates where outside standing and waiting .After 5 mins , Sir Orata let us come enside though I know he was disappointed because we haven’t meet for about 4 Mondays due to holidays and typhoons . I told myself that won’t be late again for I don’t wanna abuse the kindness of our professor.

All in all, I can really say that I enjoyed my Statistics class. It was one of a kind experience, and a happy learning too. I thank Sir Orata baceuse my hatred in analyzing data and solving problems vanished. Now I can stand on feet and tell the world, “Show me what you got and I”ll solves it with my statistics knowledge”.
    “THANK YOU SIR, AND GOBLESS.”

    “My Statistics Experience”

Wikipedia states that Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. It deals with all aspects of this, including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experiments. A beginner states that, Statistics is an impenetrable forest of numbers. But as for me, statistics would be one of the subjects I would not be able to escape nor hide after taking Accountancy as my major. In the very first place, I don’t hate math but I don’t like it either. My first choice wasn’t accountancy but OC wasn’t offering my choice of course so I ended up taking a business course.

Reminiscing our first meeting, before going to our room I was like – “Lord, sana po mabait ang prof!”. Seeing Sir Orata, I asked my blockmates – “Is he our prof?, really?” for I couldn’t believe because he looks young, no joke. He didn’t require any book because he told us that he alone is already a book. Our first meeting was memorable too because from the very moment he grouped us into five, each group should explain why statistics is important to the chosen fields and that was our very first activity for the very first meeting. I was the leader of my group and the time I was introducing my group in front, I was flattered because I overheard that he asked my classmates if I was a masscom student.

Upon learning Statistics step by step, I began to understand and improve myself in analyzing and solving different problems. My viewpoint in this subject has turned upside down because I really indeed enjoyed every seat works and quizzes. Before my impression upon seeing my schedule was like- “goodness! 3 hours of Stat? Nganga!” but now I was like – “time na? Ang bilis naman.” Learning this subject together with Sir Orata was fun indeed. He attends his class on time so that we may be able to catch up our lessons. Right after every topic, he gives seat works so that he could see if we really understood the topic, and surprisingly we really do understand each lesson because he was really able to explain briefly every point.

Another memorable experience was just lately, truly LATE-ly, it was already 5:10pm when we went to our room and was very surprised that Sir Orata was in the room and was already discussing something with only few of my classmates. The doors were locked, yes it was, and we were just standing outside waiting for miracle. After a few minutes, “siguro naawa na si Sir ay pinapasok na nya kami”, Yesss!. I know He was disappointed to us but I was impressed on how he handled himself not to be angry and just go on discussing.

I realized that Statistics isn’t hard to deal with; people just have this lazy attitude that hinders them to learn the subject their own way. And it is really a big, big factor too if you have a professor like Sir Orata who is really a big help. As Mam Rodriguez, our former professor in math, told us before that we will be having a brilliant professor and that compliment was definitely true. Now, I don’t need Google, Wikipedia or dictionary to find what Statistics is because I can define it now by my own experience and by the knowledge imparted to us. Ending this experience, I’d like to share this quote - "It is the mark of a truly intelligent person to be moved by statistics." - George Bernard Shaw. And never judge statistics by its cover, try discovering it topic per topic. Truly I appreciate statistics now better than before, and it is because of our good professor! Thanks po! I salute you sir! :)

    “My Statistics Experience”
For me statistics is a subject that will give you a stressed and also angry because if you will not listen carefully to our professor Dr. Edwin Orata you will be statue because for the happening, but Statistics is very exciting for me because “I LOVE NUMBERS” even though sometimes my mind is not active because of the schedule of class I’ll try to communicate well and understand the lessons because it is for myself. The Statistics Experience The biggest adaptation I have had to make in my life was moving to subject Statistics. I have to take it upon myself to get to the library if needed or ask the necessary questions. Another big difference between high school academics and college academics is the importance of the test. Unlike in high school, where daily assignments can help to pad a grade, the main source. Statistics are used every day in life, and are very important in the everyday world. One important use of statistics is to summarize a collection of data in a clear and understandable way.

Although the different meanings of "statistics" can be confusing, a careful consideration of the context in which the word is used should make its intended meaning clear. Parameters A parameter is a numerical quantity measuring some aspect of a population
of scores. For example, the mean is a measure of central tendency. Greek letters are used to designate parameters.. Parameters are rarely known and are usually estimated by statistics computed in samples. To the right of each Greek symbol is the symbol for the associated statistic used to estimate it from a sample. Measurement Scales Measurement is the assignment of numbers to objects or events in a systematic fashion. Four levels of measurement scales are commonly distinguished: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.
Math play important role in life. Mr. Orata teaching places emphasis on the decision making which I have to plan lessons by minding goals, objectives. Student have to know the reason why they learn math whether they realized it or not. For examples, shoppers use math to calculate change, tax, and sales prices. Cooks use math to modify the amount a recipe will make. Vacationers use math to find time of arrivals and departures to plan their trips… Finally, I’m really respecting the views of the us even if these differ from their own personal views.
Mr. Orata is very creative with their teaching styles. Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things. It is difficult to keep and handling the attention of 15-50 classmate. He always try to respect the views of everyone, and THIS IS MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE!

    "MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE"

What is STATISTICS? I always find that statistics are hard to swallow and impossible to digest. The only one I can ever remember is that if all the people who go to sleep in church were laid end to end they would be a lot more comfortable. We must be careful not to confuse data with the abstractions we use to analyze them. You can't fix by analysis what you bungled by design.

Statistics defined as a process of collection, presentation, tabulation, analysis and interpretation. I thought it was hard to take up this subject because some of my friends told me of that. But it’s wrong, based on my experience it was about so challenging and enjoyable subject. In the first place I never thought math subject would be one of my favorite. I remembered first day of school, when I saw Sir Orata one thing came on my mind “I think his very strict professor and KJ”. Haha! As the days goes by, I learn a lot from him and slightly began to start understand analyzing and solving some problems. Though it takes time for me to grasp the lessons but at the end I still able to understand it. I want to share also the very “worst or hard, I guess”? is when we are solving so very long problems it’s just like HANGOVER for me. Ooh well, definitely I thankful for that because it is a good practice to improve me much better. And one of the great strategies is when after he teaches the lesson he always gave a seatwork and quizzes every topic that he discussed, and in 3 hours we finished 2 to 3 lessons in a meeting. It was so unbelievable but that’s the truth. He also gave as a 15 minutes break and that’s more I like it.

There’s so many memorable moments that we have with Sir Orata. I also remembered what he said that we should study hard and be serious of what we are doing (take note favorite na daw niya BSA student). As I realized math isn’t so hard to understand and in fact it’s cool and happy to learn more about mathematics specially statistics. I love numbers but not all the times because it stresses my life. In the reality I can say that without statistics our life would not be complete. It is better to learn more about it and apply to our life and I guess it will help us in the future. This is the end of my statistics experience.

    “MY STATISTICS EXPIRIENCE”
For starters, let me give a brief description about statistics. Statistics is a fast growing subject. As a discipline it is as old as human civilization. From its origin, statistics is being used as a tool of analysis. In ancient times, the state was using Statistics to keep different administrative and economic records. These records relate to population, age and sex-wise distribution of population, birth rate, death rate, stock of wealth and assets etc. These information (statistics) were of immense help to the state for its administration and policy formulations. So in those days, statistics was considered as the “Science of Statecraft” In ancient India we find the use of statistics in Kautilya's 'Arthashastra' and Abul Fazal's “Ain-e-Akbari”. The word statistics seems to have come from the Latin word 'status' or Italian word 'statista' or the French word 'statistique' or the German word 'statistick'. Each of these words means a political state. In modem times, statistics has become indispensable in almost all spheres of human' activity and knowledge. In our day today activities we are using statistics in one form or another. It has become a part and parcel of our civilization. H.G. Wells had rightly observed, "Statistical thinking will one day be as necessary for efficient citizenship as the ability to read and write". Sir Ronald A. Fisher was the pioneer in applying statistics to different branches of studies. So he is regarded as the “father of Statistics.” Now there is hardly any subject or branch of study which does not use statistics. Scientific, social and economic studies without statistics are inconceivable. Hence elementary ideas on the subject is imperative for the students of Economics. Generally statistics means numerical data or quantitative information in an enquiry. In ancient times, statistics was used as ‘political arithmetic’. The Government was collecting data on vital socio¬economic and political matters for the smooth administration of the state. From purely academic point of view we can discuss the meaning of statistics in two senses-singular sense and plural sense. In plural sense, statistics refers to numerical statements of facts related to each other. Non-¬related figures are not statistics. For example, when we say 47% of people of the Philippines live below poverty line, or there are 30 districts in our state, we are using statistics in plural sense. Here the data are related, because we compare the percentage of poor people or the number of districts of the Philippines with other countries. So these statements are statistics. But statements like 10 students or 15 books are not statistics as they are not related. Now, it is clear that statistics is very important in our daily lives as we use it in almost everything. Knowing the importance of this subject just gives me the drive to attend and really try and learn everything that I could from this class and also with the help of our most dedicated Professor Dr. Oratta, who’s only intention is to make sure that his students will understand the subject matter and embraced the teachings learned so it can be utilized properly. I feel so lucky and blessed that I have taken this subject this semester though it was unexpected because without knowing until now, that I will be able to use it in my Nursing Major specifically in COPAR “Community Organizing Participative Action Research”. It just made it easy for me and me able to contribute so much to my colleagues in statistically survey a whole community. I was unaware that I was applying what I have learned in class in an actual real life setting. At first, I was kind of wondering about the importance of studying statistics, questions about what good will it bring me that need to be answered. But now I know because I experienced its application first hand.

    “MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE”

STATISTICS is a range of procedures for gathering, organizing, analyzing and presenting quantitative data. ‘Data’ is the term for facts that have been obtained and subsequently recorded, and, for statisticians, “data” usually refers to quantitative data that are numbers. This means that statistics helps us turn data into information; that is data that have been interpreted, understood and are useful to the recipient.

I am a student in statistics a local private at Olivarez College in this semester; I have never had a professor like Sir Orata that made our class feel so comfortable in terms of speaking out loud and having class conversations. If every professor at temple had the emotional IQ of this man, every student would learn better and have more success in my opinion. Mathematics has beauties of its own a symmetry and proportion in its results, a lack of superfluity, an exact adaptation of means to ends, which is exceedingly remarkable and to be found only in the works of the greatest beauty. When this subject is properly presented, the mental emotion should be that of enjoyment of beauty, not that of repulsion from the ugly and the unpleasant.

I want to thank Professor Orata for being supportive and understanding. I am a student who was in the process of deploying while finishing my coursework, Professor Orata was supportive of me and my studies during the our 2nd yr student in college. I really appreciate his help and feedback on my work and progress. Thank you.

My experience in math is one course that I enjoy learning a lot. I feel challenged every time I try to solve a math problem and I feel great being able to solve it the right way. I have been learning math from many years now and I have had many experiences, good and bad, some of which I would like to share.
One of my greatest experiences in this subject in my 2nd year is that when I had recently lot of activities, quizzes, assignments and etc. That why I love Math. The course I completed was one of the most interesting experiences that I have completed in my educational process. I would like to thank to my major professor for all the knowledgeable lessons that he has taught us during the fews days of my education. Thanks to his encouragement I feel I am a "world class student."

    MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCED

Hi! As I enter in our Statistics class I don’t know what to expect about the subject, the class and to our Professor, all I know is when I heard the word Statistics what comes to my mind is it is like accounting, pure numbers and it is difficult. And to our Professor? I’m quite nervous because it is the first time that he will be our teacher but when he started to talk to us and introduced himself, I told to myself” magaling to, Dr. e.” and after that he gave the syllabus of the lesson. As the time goes by I found out that he has a good sense of humor. He defined us the meaning of Statistics as a process of collection, presentation, tabulation, analysis, and interpretation of data. He taught us the scales of measurement, which are the nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. Every time after he taught the topic he always gave us a quiz to know if we really understand the lesson. And I remembered also when he sat down beside me at the back during our seat work and he asked me, “ayos lang ba ako magturo? Di ba mabilis? And I answered “ ayos lang po Sir, mabilis nga po maintindihan”. I can say that he is very good teacher because every meeting we sometimes finished 3 topics and we understand it fully. Since our statistics class is after our swimming class and it was so tired and sleepy, he didn’t let us sleep because he always makes us laugh when he called James Sorongon and sometimes Coco Martin and Jaypee Suello as Yao Ming. And my unforgettable experienced was when he told us that he will just text us our grade in prelim at 5-6am and if we don’t received a text it means that we failed in the prelim, I woke up 5am and I am expecting that I will received a message from him, I was so nervous every time my phone ring only to find out that it was just my classmates asking me also if I received a text from Sir Orata, we are all nervous when we enter our marketing class and I told them “baka lahat tayo bagsak”. But it was all gone when we finally received his text .He taught us everything in statistics such as frequency distribution, sampling techniques, and measures of variability. And this is my experienced in statistics and i know it is not yet the end as the days goes by.. Thank you so much Sir for everything! God bless you.

One of my favorite subject is statistics aside from Accounting (our major). Statistics is like Accounting that we need to compute, analyze and think logically. Statistics is a process of collection, presentation, tabulation, analysis interpretation. Statistics? Other student says it s a not easy subject and will give them a hard time, yes they are actually true, but because of our intelligent and cheerful professor, Dr. Orata Statistics become easy for us. Want to know why? That’s the secret of 3 hours meeting with him every Monday that I am going to reveal now.
I am a student who always comes late in my subject, but when Monday comes at 5:00 in the afternoon. I am in our room before 5:00.See? this subject can change people from bad too good habits and that’s definitely because of our professor, Dr. Orata. He discipline us and because of that we change.
Our subject with him is 3 hours, Imagine 3 hours? You may think that that’s subject will be boring one, but no! a big NO!!! Even if that is the case, we don’t feel that because he cracked jokes in our class so we don’t feel bored. I also experience happiness and joy while learning. And every meeting we will not leave our class without learning something, It should have and that’s because of our professor.

Statistics is important to me, as an Accounting student because I know it will help me a lot in the future. So thank you very much to our professor, Dr. Orata for sharing his knowledge. I learn a lot because of him.

Actually on that day im thinking to drop my math subjects cause i didnt get our first activity and quiz and because of it i thought that im gonna failed. And other thing that makes me convince to drop it is by hearing some gossip that our prof. Was terror. But in my first time attending his class all the fear that i had gone.
I really had a great day everytime attending his class. I had alot of friends saying statistics is important to our life. Coz through it you can apply it to your life.
Lets go back to my prof. Actually i really admiring him and prpud to be his student coz i witnessing the way he teach us. It was really unique. First time to saw a prof Teaching withought using books. And by that i can prove that my prof was a really good and smart. And throughi encourage more to study math.
Everytime he giving us a quiz i really get challenged. And can u believe that our prof can give three lessons in 3hours. Yes, u should believe coz on him i can see that we should not waste our time. We should use it wisely and with sense.
Now i get more inspired and motivated to study math and also accountancy. I really want to thank u sir for teaching us. God bless .

    My Statistics Experience

Studying statistics under Mr. Orata was a momentous period of discovery and realization the somnolent attitude that I used to have towards the subject was supplanted by one of excited interest, because I found out that statistics was a living thing which I could harness as the chariot of my dreams.

I learned that statistics is not simply collecting, presenting, tabulating, analyzing and interpreting the data, but it can also tickle your imagination as such when Mr. Orata mention a problem the image of that problem suddenly become vivid in my mind, as if the mentioned problem set off a skyrocket which burst somewhere inside me and reveal the story behind that answer.

This, to me, was of course fascinating enough. I began to think of problems as distinct personalities and as days rolled on they were to become to me more vivid than the faces of my neighbors.

It was in these days to follow that I was to be engrossed in the far reaching relationships of problems. I was to discover that, in the world of statistics as well as in the world of men, each possessed its own importance, that each problem were solved for its answer and every human were born for purpose, collection of data for information, presentation for the audience to easily cope up with the discussion, tabulating data to know the number of a certain matter, analyzing to know the story of a problem and interpreting to express the problem clearly and logically.

But to me, the never ending source of wonder was the power of statistics to touch people’s lives. It could tug in your spirit and make it dance to the music of its creation.

I first felt the brunt of this power when we calculate the number of people in the Philippines suffering from hunger each year. I never thought that this simple calculation would make me feel bad millions of people in the Philippines were suffering from hunger while I know others who are still not satisfied in their luxurious wants.

I never thought of statistics as a serious matter before, but one lesson was enough for me. I soon learned to enrich my knowledge in the subject matter for it is not a subject to be thought but a knowledge that is to be used in the real world.

    My Statistics Experience

Before anything else, I am Vaness Ahra A. Labay, 17 years of age. To be honest with all of you, I’m not really the kind of person who are interested in making my own blog, but because of it is part of the requirements in my studies, I decided to do so. And I found out that it is not that awful expressing what you feel for a certain thing. For the very first time, I would like to impart all about my statistics experience; I do know that many of you could relate to what I’m going to share.

I’m having my college degree in Olivarez College ParaƱaque City (main campus) taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (2nd year). And one of my areas under discussion is statistics.

Way back when I was still in secondary level, I thought that statistics is more on formulas and surveys. And I was not wrong, it was indeed. Because of that, I feel anxious knowing that I was going to have it in my second year college. I was afraid that I might get failing grades in it because it would be very difficult. But luckily I was not. And I do know it is because of my perseverance and motivation to learn with the help of our professor.

Based on what I hear and see in televisions, radios, and newspapers, I find statistics as one of the most interesting field, because it involves people, society and most especially the economic issues. At first, I thought it was a very complicated subject matter, but as I continue to gain knowledge about it with the help of my professor, I can even say that it can be enjoyable.
Statistics plays a vital role in every fields of human activity. Statistics has important role in determining the existing position of per capita income, unemployment, population growth rate, housing, schooling medical facilities etc…in a country.

Even though sometimes I also feel sleepy, but that is also because the subject I have before statistics is swimming, and I know that my classmates could agree with me. But that doesn’t impede me in paying attention to our subject matter. Our professor also gave as the favor that we can take our snack while we have our discussion. And that is to prevent us in getting sluggish, and make us more active and to feel better while listening to him. And I can prove that it is really helpful in our case.

We have taken up our prelims and I was able to learn so many topics with connection to our subject. And in our last meeting held last week, I figure out how to figure out probability and also independent and dependent event. For me we are lucky enough to have a professor that could teach us properly and a professor that could give us informative topics and discussions.

All I am aiming is that I will continue to learn from our discussions and to do much better performance in our class. I am aware that as long as I have enough information’s about the field in statistics, I could relate and understand every time I’m going to be involved in things that are related with it.

Statistics is also very important in my educational field. Accounting is impossible without exactness. But for decision making purpose, so much precision is not essential the decision may be taken on the basis of approximation, known as statistics. The correction of the values of current assets is made on the basis of the purchasing power of money.
In auditing sampling techniques are commonly used. An auditor determines the sample size of the book to be audited on the basis of error.

Now I can say that every time I will encounter something with regards to statistics it will not be that very complicated because I have my ideas with me that could help me a lot. I am looking forward for many more ideas I could get that deals with statistics. God Bless.

    “MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE”

I am Aiebelle Gonzales Benusa. 18 years old. I am Second Year College taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Olivarez College of Paranaque City. And as an accountancy student I am required take up the subject Math 3 which is Statistics.

Before revealing my experience in Statistics, let me give you first a brief definition of it. STATISTICS is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. It deals with all aspects of this, including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experiments. From the definition given, you will see that it almost cover the aspect when it comes in surveys. And that Statistics helps in providing a better understanding and exact description of a phenomenon of nature.

Some people say that Statistics is not an easy subject. That it’s focus is more on surveys, calculation and analysing. And they were not wrong on that. But these beliefs of mine change when I took up my college degree. I found out that Statistics is a very challenging subject. How could I say that? Because I am experiencing it every time I attend my statistics class.

We are having our statistics class every Mondays 5:00pm to 8:00 pm under Dr.Edmar Orata. I still remember the first time we attend this class, our professor asked us to do a spoof about our lesson for that day. And that is an on the spot action which made our boring mind lively. We are all surprise when he told us that we need to present our piece after 10 minutes of practicing. And I can say that we are all in challenge at that time. Every meeting, our professor always gives us different quizzes and seatwork that make our brain squeeze. He always gives us assignments and projects. Your time will not be wasted when you attend his class. Up to the very last minute he makes sure that you will learn something from him.

I thought it would be a hard subject for me, but it was not. I really enjoy this subject even sometimes it makes my head in pain and that is because of so many numbers and calculations. I love numbers but when it comes in Statistics, I always feel dizzy and I don’t know why. I feel so very happy when I passed his preliminary exam. That first time exam in statistics makes my brain drain that day. What I’m wishing now is that I can also pass the midterm and final exam.

Is Statistics a very fascinating subject? My answer is YES! Why? It is a fascinating subject because you will learn so much from this. It will help you to excel your knowledge in calculation, surveys and many more. You will enjoy this course because it enhances your mind when it comes in thinking and analysing. It will be more enjoyable when your professor has the master of it.

Talking about our Professor in Statistics, I can say that he is so very effective teacher. He always discuss very clear, you will understand every single word that he would tell you. To tell you honestly, the very first time I saw him I really feel that he is so STRICT because his face is always on a serious mode. And at the end of his talk, I can surely tell you that you will learn what he has said. And I am so blessed to have this professor, Dr.Edmar Orata.

And now we are all busy and preparing for our very first Research Paper Defense in statistics on October 1, 2012. We all in challenge thinking what would happen to us on that day.

    ”My Statistics Experience”

When I saw our curriculum and knew that the course description of Math 3 is Statistics, there so many thoughts that come into my mind. First, I asked myself what we’re going to tackle and what the scope of this subject is. I also thought if this subject will be hard or easy for me. I feel excited at first because I know I’m going to learn much from this course and there are so many unexpected things to happen.

The first time we meet in this subject is also the time we met our professor in the name of Dr. Edmar Orata. He says something about himself and little information about his profession. In that meeting, we already had our first lesson. For me, our schedule in Statistics is not convenient. First, for the reason that it’s too late and before this subject we had our swimming class. When the time of our subject comes we’re all tired and maybe not able to think much. But it didn’t happen because the discussion was smooth and the topics were well presented. It didn’t take us much time to understand the lessons. Sir Orata gives many examples and time to practice on some problems. Oftentimes we take up more than three lessons in just one meeting. He really uses the time efficiently. He is also not strict when it comes to his teachings except in time. He doesn’t want students to come late and especially he doesn’t want to wait for his students to come.

There was this time when suspension and cancellation of our classes happen. Since our schedule is only on Mondays we’re not able to meet. And on the month of August holidays fall on every Mondays. We’re so late in our lessons that time. Luckily our discussion goes well and able to make up for our missed lessons.

When it comes to quizzes and activities given, they’re not that hard. Maybe because we easily get the lessons discussed and we are given time to practice what we studied before sir gives us the quiz.

My experience in statistics was great. There were so many things I’ve learned. I understand the importance of statistics in different fields. I also realized that it is not hard as I thought. I think that the techniques and strategies in teaching that were by our professor was a big help in apprehending the subject. This experience was so unforgettable.

Statistics? Beside learnings, we had fun. Even were too tired having our swimming class, we can still laugh and laugh and laugh during statistics time. We learn with no pressure, it was like counting 1 2 3... It's because of us, you, and especially we.

During class hours you make us laugh in your simplest joke especially those who sits in front and i'm one of them. I remember the time we heard your phone rings, then you said ''pakiabot nga nung kumakanta" (laugh). Calling my classmates as 'coco martin'
and 'yaoming'. The time when you ask me to carry your big bag pack, wishing 'sana akin nalang to' then my friend said 'angelica, ala bagay sayo'. And the last time I laugh with was the last meeting, end of class, you ask to bring your things by me
and a plastic that contains food. I seriously ask, 'Sir, ano to itatapon?' (referring to plastic bag). The you replied, 'gaga, hindi yan itatapon, kaw kaya itapon ko' (haha). Those times were really fun. I just hope that these few meetings remaining
there will be more happy moments.

Learnings. We easily learn. All because, he is like a book. I am curious at first because, he did not required us to have a book. But behind that curiousity, I am happy because it lessen our 'gastusin'. Knowing now that he is the book 'pala'. I always whisper to myself the words 'ang galing niya'. By those, we are lucky to have you as our professor. We are glad you came.

We judge the book, you let us read it. And in the end, we learned.

    MY STATISTICS EXPERIENCE

“I hate MATH”, is what I always say since high school days. I get irritated solving problems, computing numbers. It really stresses me but when STATISTICS comes into my way, I never get stressed anymore. Why?... well, I will share you these experiences.

Last year,(when I was in 1st year college) I thought that STATISTICS was a difficult subject. It’s because one time when I was in the chowking area together with my friends in BS accountancy 2 (now 3rd year), I noticed that they were very busy doing their assignments. I was looking at their papers, they were busy computing and I really don’t understand what they are doing. I asked them if what subject it is. They said, “STATISTICS “. When I heard that word, the first thing that comes into my mind was the “NSO” so I guess it is about surveying, and tabulating data. I asked them again if statistics was difficult and they only answered me, “OK LANG “so I think that statistics was quite difficult.

Well, now that I’m already taking this subject, my first impression to this was changed. During our first meeting, my classmates, Kim, Nechole, Angelica, Daniella and I were the first to come inside the room. Then suddenly, Dr. Orata came in. We really thought that he was a new student, our new classmate because he looks young (it’s true, sir ). But we were surprised when he said that he will be our math professor for the whole semester. When we already knew that he was a professor, I think that maybe he was so strict. But, I was very wrong. Well, actually he is strict only to assignments, projects and attendance. He is really a good professor. He explains each topic very well. He gave us more examples so that it would be easy for us to understand the lessons. He gave us a seatwork or just a practice just to let him know if we really understand it. If he sees that we still don’t get it, he gave us another one until we get it and to make us ready for the real quiz.

He is also a very funny professor. While inside the classroom, we never get bored because of his jokes that really make us laugh. Whenever we have something to do like seatworks, we can’t concentrate on it because of his jokes especially when he mentions names like, YAO MING, COCO MARTIN and he was referring to Jaypee Suello and James Sorongon. My seatmate, Angelica, and I were only laughing on him. One time, when his cellphone rang and It’s ringtone was “I wanna be a billionaire” by Bruno Mars, he said, “ Pakiabot nga nung kumakanta “. Angelica and I really laugh on what he said. We can prevent ourselves from laughing. While we were doing our seatwork, we were smiling because of that phrase..We can’t move on. Haha… such a funny professor. When our class ends, we leave the room with so much happiness inside our heart and a big smile on our face. We are really thankful for having him as our professor. I LOVE STATISTICS! Because of you, sir!.. TWO THUMBS UP FOR YOU 

  28. Good day Sir!
I’m Julie Fe Arsula,18 years old, studying at Olivarez College and taking up BS Accountancy. Let me share you my experience in statistics subject.
At first I was so nervous entering the class, I don’t have any idea what statistic is. When I first time to see my professor I thought he’s that kind of strict but not. He always chatting with my other classmates and also he given us some break. I learned that statistics is very important in our daily routine. But first let me define what statistics is. Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. It deals with all aspects of this, including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experimentsl. Maybe this one is much easier than geometry and algebra. But I was surprised to think that this subject is not that really easy, you have to listen carefully with your professor, if you did not listen you can’t answer a problem.
In statistics, were not only to solve the problems but also to analyze and interpret it. Sometimes I felt that some problems are hard to solve but I need to try. I learned that it is important to arrange records in such a way that one can easily deduce maximum information from them. There were times my mind is going crazy because of the problem. I don’t know how to solve it, when it comes to that I’m only asking my seatmate how she answered it. Then she patiently explained it to me. Then on my own, I tried to answered it.
I find it also this subject challenging, there are many ways on how to solve a problem. When I feel giving up I only told to myself, “ I must passed this subject”, then continue on what I’m doing. I was amazed also with my professor, Mr. Edmar Orata. He was really good in teaching, also he can taught us many topics at the same time giving 3-4 quizzes.
Statistics is very useful in our daily activities. The knowledge I learned about it is very important. As a accounting student, it is important to analyze and interpret a problem the way I understand it. My statistics experience is very challenging and required more analyzation, however I enjoyed it. Thanks to our professor who taught us the subject and always making us laugh when we feel like sleepy.

    My Statistics Experience

Hi Sir I’m Jamiel Ancheta 2nd year BSA student at Olivarez College. I have some experience in our statistics. During our first day of class when I was first saw Sir Orata I thought he was strict professor but I realized he isn’t Because Sir is a very kind professor and in the first day of class he teaches us the “statistic” and based to his definition that statistic is presentation and analyzing the data. Many student say’s they hate the math subject because of computation and problem solving but as a accounting student we love math especially statistic because sooner or later we conduct survey and statistic is related to our course that we taken. I am so proud and thankful that you Sir Orata is our professor because we can use you share to us your knowledge after we graduated. During in our 3 hour period every Monday you can teach us up to three lesson every meeting and you have many strategies and techniques so that me and my classmate can easily learn the lesson teaching to us. I’m so thankful and grateful to our professor for giving me a good grade in prelim and every meeting I’m so excited and confuse for the new lesson in Statistic. And of course my experience in Statistics every meeting will be remarkable part in my college days and I’m sure that everyone of u8s in BSA 2nd year will not forget the statistics and the one who teaches us and gave us this wonderful experience.

    “My Statistic Experience”
Hi Sir I’m Wendelyn M. Dimaano from Olivarez College and I want to share
my Statistic experience. Before I start my class in Statistic my class in
Statistic I feel curious about it so I tried to ask my friends who had taken
this subject. Many of them told me that this subject is very hard because
many of them failed it. So, before my class in Statistics I really feel nervous.
Many things are going in my mind like “If I can pass this subject”, “who will
be my professor?” , “If I can understand that lesson well”, and “ Is this
subject really hard”. But when the time I start to study this subject I really
enjoy it. Maybe because I really love dealing with numbers and in every
discussion that we takled I feel really excited and curios about it. In this
subject I learn many things like the idea about what is Statistic is and how
the the statistic connected in our daily life. Most of the people will tell you
that “the first impresion last.” But for me I don’t think so. Because having
this subject make feel more interested about it. So it become one of my
favorite subject because I enjoy every discussion that we takled. For me,
you can only learn the subject matter well if tha one teaches you a good
teacher. So for me one of the reason why I learn the subject well is because
of my professor who teach us every single detail in the Statistic subject that
we need to learn like: the meaning of the statistic, nature of it, variable
accourding to its different kind, sampling technique, grapical presentation, measure of variability and a lot more. But one of my favorite discussion is
the combination and permutation, this is also my favorite discussion when I
was still in highschool. Having this knowledge is not enough to succeed we
also need values andd in our statistic we learn more about it. Like to be
more responsible in every task and obligation given to us. To be punctual in
every situation given to you. To have more confident in giving your opinion
especially if you know that it is right or correct. To have a camaradery in
every one. Most of the this simple values given to us are neglected because
we are only look forward to the knowledge that we can gain to this subject.
But we must take always think in the deeper meaning of every subject we
take because maybe it has more deeper meaning that we can’t see because
we are busy collecting knowledge. This is my wonderful experience in my
Statistic subject, that I will always treasure and apply in my everyday life.
For me many subject will you learn but the experience that you done will
never be all the same in a second time.

    MY STATISTICS EXPERINCE

STATISTICS , when I knew that we are having a subject like this in our curriculum, the first thing that comes to my mind is numbers , lots of numbers . But then , I wonder if I can take up this subject in a nice and normal way.
Then the day came , 5:00 in the afternoon first day of our subject statistics. When our professor came we are all thinking if this professor is good. I said to myself this professor seems to be strict. When we started the lesson it was good, I just listen to him. I was right he is strict professor a good professor.
I said to myself “ Moses, just listen to your professor properly and you will understand the lesson “. When the next meeting started , I listen carefully to my professor , I understand all what he has discussed. Every day we can apply statistics. Everyday, as I go to school, commuters in our area has different options to choose on how to get to their destination. There are ordinary people who choose the passenger jeepney and students like me who would prepare to take the utility vehicle of my way to school. There are no buses routing this area because there is no demand yet. I heard that there will be an extension of MRT in this place for the next five years. I wonder how they can calculate the number of passenger who would be in need of the MRT services in this area. Using the data on the number of commuters, the number of vehicles, the number of establishment may be part of the basis on their decision to come up with this infrastructure. Data collection, data gathering, data analysis may have happened five years ago before I had a formal statistic subject in school now. I assume that there had been numerous hypothesis made before they could come up with this project. I am grateful that there will be appreciation of this studies thru formal teaching of statistics subject in school and having a good professor on this .

    My Statistics Experience

What is Statistics? What is the importance of Statistics? I keep wondering about the answer for these questions before I enter the classroom . I have no idea about this subject, all I know is that it is a branch of Mathematics. I like to know about Math, unfortunately, Math hates me. Despite of the difficulty of this subject, I know I still be able to pass it as long as I strive hard to learn it.
Statistics is the process of collection, presentation, tabulation, analysis and interpretation of data. On the first day of class, I was excited because of the prospect of meeting new friends and learning new things. We introduced ourselves one by one and among the class, we are the only two from RadTech, one from Nursing and the rest are all Accountancy students. My professor expects more from the Accountancy students since they are expected to be good at numbers.
The first discussion we had was quite easy and I was able to understood it easily. As the topic moves, it became longer and more complicated though. In solving a problem, being careful with the data is necessary as it is all connected to the main problem and just one mistake would mean a wrong answer. Me and my friend are always the last one to finish our seatworks maybe because we don’t have inclination to numbers. Even we are being left behind by our classmates when it comes to understanding the new topics, me and my friend didn’t lose hope that we can still pass this subject.
Our class runs for three hours and during the class I was sometimes wishing for a break especially when we have tough topics. I need the break to freshen up my mind when it seems that I already have too much information. We were given a break once done with our seatworks, however, I always tend to use all the time given to finish my seatwork.
I know that Statistics is a tough subject, but I believe that like every subject we only need to understand its fundamentals for us to understand the remaining topics. I believe it will help me to pass this subject if I can give enough time, practice problem solving and discuss confusing and hard topics with my friend.

My first impression in Statistics was it’s a very hard subject but I was wrong, Statistic is fun to learn.
My experiences are very unforgettable at first I thought it would be a boring subject because math is involved. I used to hate math but when Mr.Orata became my professor I enjoyed learning it because he taught me an important lesson, that we should face our fears. Statistics is really not a hard subject, you just have to listen and understand it to be able to answer the problems without having a hard time. Mr.Orata also taught us that we should be responsible with our task works to pay the hardship of our parents. Learning is fun and having a professor that knows how to explain the lesson very well is a great blessing.

Many student starting grade school until college always complain that they are having difficulty understanding Mathematics, Statistics, Physics and other number involved subjects but for me today as I encounter all those subject I have thought that all of the subjects will be hard if you really don’t listen when your teacher is teaching, and another thing is the teacher because when he is not really confident with the subject he is teaching he cannot explain it very well and the students will be having a hard time to get the procedures. It’s not just about the subject and the student but I was very thankful because I had a very professional professor he can explain Statistics very well. He can make the subject easy to understand that you are wondering how he explained it very simple, very easy, and very quick to pick up; he is such a good professor that he makes our college life light. I proved myself that when your listeners listen to you it just means that you are a good speaker.
